New Hampshire

A couple notes:

The coverage seems to include much about "likeability" and election strategy. The discussion revolves around the competition rather than what the competition is about. The discussion becomes about the persons, rather than the policies.

Not that we can separate the two very neatly. It is persons who implement policies: who can make the change; who can make the rules or break the rules. It would be nice if we could get an analysis of each policy and make some judgment ourselves, as citizens, but on the other hand, perhaps it is enough to elect someone who is good at making policy analysis.

As I've said, I'm not enthusiastic about the mantra "change." It reveals to me how much this country is fed up with the current state of things. And I'm also not convinced about the term "experience." Who has the experience to be president except a former president?

However, Hiliary (as well as Bill Richardson) does have connections and connections matter.

I've heard some say that Obama comes from the Chicago Machine, and that doesn't quite get it right. If you want to look at the person who probably most influenced Obama, it is Harold Washington. Who was fairer than fair.

I am not, in this fashion, stating who I support. It's like steering an ocean liner.
