The papers are all completed and handed in, so now there is nothing left for me to do but study for the church history final. We were given a "prospectus" on what to study for this exam. Instead of just telling us to study eveything and then some, he wrote it out on his "prospectus." Joy. Does it make it any easier to learn all that stuff? Doubt it. I have collected all the notes that I believe will help me squeak through the exam and they measure about three quarters of an inch thick...and that's the minimalist version of it all. I also have some old tests...ugh. I read those first and headed for something to settle both my stomach and my nerves.
Some are still writing papers...I think that most are still writing papers. Makes me seem a bit compulsive, but I wouldn't sleep well with papers hanging over my head and having to hurry to get them done and study as well. I may not be the smartest seminarian here, but I am an organized seminarian!
I went for my physical exam for CPE (clinical pastoral education) which I shall be doing at a local hospital. This is something that I am not looking forward to at all. So it should be interesting to see what I think of my working summer by August 10th when it is over. Right now I am tired and ready to be finished for this semester. There is still all the paperwork (read make work project) to set things up for my field placement in a church for next year. It's kind of on-the-job-training with a priest who has agreed to mentor me. We shall all be doing this and it will involve fun stuff (?) like preaching, teaching, and generally learning the details of running a parish. I am fortunate in that the priest who will be mentoring me is a great person and I have no doubt I shall learn and enjoy the process of it...so there is hope there.
There is still the detail things like packing up my room for storage since I shall be moving to a real dorm building next semester. I haven't heard about my storage facility as yet. Ah the devil is indeed in the details!
