The Work

Today at 7:30am - a meeting with several religious leaders about the county's program for dealing with the homeless: take away their places to sleep and replace them with folding chairs. Ridiculous. There are 140 hard cases in Westchester. With some attention and resources, they could all be off the streets. Instead, they are made invisible.

9:30 - discussion with a consultant about the after school program and connecting it with the library. Brainstormed some ideas. Will probably offer a one day program on a day where schools are off and parents aren't on November 6th.

11:00 - writing newsletter. Wishing I was in bed. Went out a bit late last night.

12:00 - waiting for clergy to come and join me for lunch. No RSVPs so when people come by I'll just suggest we go out for lunch and get a salad.

1:30pm - 2 try to get some of the papers off my desk. Look over bulletin. Send out press regarding jazz concert on October 21st.

2:00pm continue on newsletter. Call people to ask if they will serve on altar guild. Arrange meeting for finance committee. Draft note asking to replace line of credit with mortgage.

3:00 await kids and teachers at The House

4:00 new clergy tea.

5:30 return to office try to clear up desk.

later, work out or go play poker in brooklyn or dance salsa at plumms or just write at home.
